The Omega Nursing Home Redevelopment consists of the extension and renovation of an existing 22 Bed Nursing Home to provide a total of 61 beds complete with a separate Dementia area.
The overriding aspiration of the design was to create a building that would allow for the facilitation of a more humane and person-centred model of end-of-life care for older people which placed individualized, person-centred resident care at the heart of how the building would be designed and operated.
The fully accessible building consists of circa. 3,000sq.m of floor area accommodated over two floors. All Bedrooms contain their own private ensuite facilities and full phone and internet services and residents have free access to a range of facilities and services including Living Rooms, Dining Rooms, Activity Rooms, Library, Prayer Room, Internal Courtyards, Physiotherapy and Treatment Rooms and ancillary Accommodation.
The building design and configuration manages to create a building with a very warm, secure, homely atmosphere and internal environment where the residents can have the optimum balance between independence & care. Phase 1 comprising of 40 beds is fully complete. Phase 2 comprising 21 beds is currently under construction.
